War in Iran: BRICS Officially Calls for Restraint

In New Delhi, BRICS leaders adopted a joint statement calling for restraint in the Middle East conflict, without directly naming the parties involved. This declaration follows previous disagreements in May when no consensus was reached. China and Russia continue to support Iran, while the United Arab Emirates, directly involved in the crisis, hold divergent positions. Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian also met with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in New Delhi.
