Effurun shooting: IGP reacts as police officer kills suspect, assures justice

The Nigeria Police Force condemned the fatal shooting of a suspect, Mene Ogidi, in Effurun, Delta State. Officers from the Effurun Area Command shot the suspect while attempting to arrest him for trying to ship a parcel containing a Beretta pistol and ammunition. Team leader ASP Nuhu Usman has been transferred to Force Headquarters in Abuja for disciplinary measures and prosecution. The Inspector-General of Police extended condolences to the deceased's family and assured that justice would be served.
