The Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has infected 10,351 people and killed 5,026 since it began in May, according to the Congolese health ministry. Ituri and North Kivu account for most cases, while health authorities struggle to trace transmission chains, many of which involve unknown contacts. The WHO says about one-third of victims died without receiving care at a medical facility.
