Tinubu seeks Rivers support and hails Wike-Fubara reconciliation

At a campaign rally in Port Harcourt, President Bola Tinubu asked Rivers State voters to support him in the January 16, 2027 presidential election. He praised Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, for resolving their political differences and thanked Rivers residents for supporting him in 2023. Tinubu defended his economic reforms, saying outstanding salary and pension liabilities had been cleared in 27 of the country’s 36 states, and criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Fubara pledged to mobilise three million votes for Tinubu, while Vice President Kashim Shettima urged the South-South region to back the president’s re-election.
