The Ansaru faction of Boko Haram kidnapped 46 Nigerians, mostly schoolchildren and their teachers, in two communities in Ogbomoso Local Government Area of Oyo State. Mrs. Racheal Alamu, the school principal, and Mrs. Mary Akanbi, a teacher, were forced to plead with authorities not to attempt a rescue. Professor Alamu, the principal's husband, begged Governor Seyi Makinde to secure the captives' return. Footage shows hostages bruised and a mother with her infant.
