East of the DRC: 'The maneuvers of the M23 and RDF aimed at occupying other parts of our territories have failed' (Government)

The Congolese government stated that the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) are successfully containing the maneuvers of the AFC/M23 rebellion and the Rwandan Defense Forces (RDF) in the North Kivu and South Kivu provinces. During the 98th Council of Ministers meeting, it was reported that the attempts by M23 and RDF to expand their territorial control have failed due to the determination of loyalist forces. Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, tensions between Kinshasa, Kigali, and AFC/M23 continue, and the Doha process faces challenges in implementing commitments.
