Ziguinchor: 28 detained and MFDC “Mangoukouro” headquarters destroyed

A joint army and gendarmerie operation destroyed the MFDC “Mangoukouro” headquarters in the Lyndiane Coboda neighborhood of Ziguinchor and resulted in the detention of 28 people, including nine women. Security sources said they were attending a gathering to mark the anniversary of the death of Abdou Elenkine Diatta, described as a prominent MFDC figure. Authorities seized 17 mobile phones, documents, flags and insignia attributed to the movement. The detainees were handed over to the Ziguinchor gendarmerie’s research unit as investigations continue.
