Does Israel really think it can get rid of Hezbollah in Lebanon?

Analyst Imad Harb, senior fellow at the Arab Center Washington DC, argues that the United States is not blocking Israel's war on Lebanon despite a ceasefire on paper. He says Hezbollah is an excuse for Israel's land grab in Lebanon, similar to its actions in Gaza, the West Bank, and Syria. He believes that pushing the Lebanese government to disarm Hezbollah would lead to civil war in Lebanon, especially if Israel occupies large swaths of Lebanese territory.
