Myanmar's President Min Aung Hlaing has reduced all prison sentences by one-sixth, further trimming Aung San Suu Kyi's sentence to about 18 years. She has been imprisoned since 2021 following a military coup and is serving a 33-year sentence, later reduced to 27 years, on charges her allies claim are politically motivated. Her family warns of her deteriorating health as she remains almost completely incommunicado.
