Kenya: History Written! Sawe Does the Impossible Breaking World Record in Sub-2

Kenyan Sabastian Sawe crossed the finish line of the 2026 London Marathon with a record time of 1:59:30, becoming the first man to officially run a marathon under two hours. Sawe broke the previous record held by Kelvin Kiptum by more than a minute. Ethiopian Yomif Kejelcha also achieved a milestone as the fastest debutant with a national record of 1:59:41.
