Rise of Hausa irredentism, by Ochereome Nnanna

Ochereome Nnanna's article analyzes the rise of Hausa irredentism in Nigeria. He argues that the Sokoto Caliphate system, established by Usman Dan Fodio in 1804, subjugated the Hausa majority under Fulani domination. Hausas are reduced to menial jobs while Fulani hold positions of power. The author considers this system the main problem of Northern Nigeria.
