PFIPC scandal: ADC calls for independent panel of inquiry

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for an independent panel of inquiry into the activities of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), an alleged fake agency headed by Adeniyi Adeyemi. The call comes after President Bola Tinubu ordered the ICPC to investigate and submit a report within 30 days. ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi argued that the probe should be conducted by an independent body, not a government agency, citing the principle that one cannot be judge in one's own case. The ADC also expressed concern over the continued detention of former governor Nasir El-Rufai, warning that President Tinubu would be held responsible if any harm befalls him, and alleging that the APC government intends to keep him in custody until after the elections.
