Sames Strike: Another Burning Issue for President Bassirou Diomaye Faye

The Autonomous Union of Doctors, Pharmacists, and Dentists of Senegal (Sames) announced a 48-hour strike on September 8 and 9 due to unsatisfactory responses to its demands, formulated at the end of 2023. The union's secretary general, Dr. Diabel Dramé, stated that this strike could mark the beginning of a longer confrontation after months of waiting. The demands include working conditions, compensation systems, and health infrastructure, with the union having previously suspended some actions to promote dialogue with the authorities.
