On June 10, 2026, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast's financial prosecutor Jean-Claude Aboya warned of rising money laundering, especially through real estate. His office receives at least one report per day of 'autonomous money laundering'. Convictions carry 3-7 years imprisonment and fines up to triple the amount laundered. Ivory Coast has been on the FATF grey list since October 2024 and has implemented reforms to secure removal.
