Dangote Petroleum Refinery sues FG over fuel import licences

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has filed a lawsuit against the Federal Government over the issuance of new fuel import licences to oil marketing companies. Despite rising domestic refining capacity, the NMDPRA granted licences to six companies to import between 600,000 and 720,000 tonnes of fuel. The refinery argues that these licences violate the Petroleum Industry Act, which permits imports only when domestic production is insufficient.
