Germany: Politician Tried for Relations with His 12-Year-Old Daughter Justifies Himself

A court in Dessau-Roßlau sentenced Holger R., a 38-year-old man, to four years and three months in prison for sexual abuse of his 12-year-old daughter after she gave birth to a boy. The case was revealed by maternity doctors who alerted the authorities. Holger R. admitted to the acts but attempted to justify his actions by citing difficult circumstances. The newborn currently lives in foster care, and the victim's mother has decided to put the child up for adoption.
