Senegalese Judged in Morocco: Lawyer Speaks of a 'Judicialization of Frustration'

Eighteen Senegalese supporters were retried on appeal in Morocco after being convicted for incidents during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final. Their lawyer, Maître Kabou, criticized the absence of the African Football Confederation and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation at the trial. The appeals court upheld the initial sentences, ranging from three months to one year in prison, with three of the convicted supporters set to be released this Saturday.
