China Confirms Detaining American Citizen Suspected of Espionage

China confirmed the detention of Min Zin, an American citizen and analyst on Burma, suspected of espionage compromising national security. He was arrested on June 3 at Kunming airport in Yunnan province. Chinese authorities informed the US consulate in Guangzhou about the case. Min Zin is a founding member of the Institute for Strategy and Policy – Myanmar (ISP-M), which studies political dynamics in Burma.
