The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) proposes that residential rental property owners register on a new electronic platform, the Electronic Rental Income Tax System (eRITS), under proposed tax regulations. Currently, only 26,668 units are registered and 1,412 landlords have been onboarded, with tax collections of just Sh1.68 million since eRITS was launched in September 2025.
