Lualaba: Hundreds of trucks carrying tonnes of copper and cobalt intercepted on several routes around Kolwezi

Security services intercepted several trucks carrying copper and cobalt on routes across Lualaba, including the Samukinda route, and immobilized them at the Musompo trading centre in Kolwezi. The operation aims to combat mining fraud and verify mineral traceability; some cargo was headed to processing centres and other shipments abroad. A delegation from Kinshasa, led by the deputy director general of the DGM and including Lualaba Governor Fifi Masuka Saïni, inspected the vehicles and their owners’ documents. The CEEC laboratory in Musompo also presented its analytical capabilities, which cover up to 92 chemical elements.

Oyedele gave his warning at the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, citing risks to investment and the naira.

Sarah Agha, Nigerian Breweries’ marketing director, said the update aims to connect with contemporary consumers while preserving the brand’s heritage, dating back to 1976 in Nigeria. The refresh’s success will depend on consumer response and Maltina’s ability to remain relevant amid intensifying competition.
