Binance says digital assets worth $6.3bn were affected by a hack that may be the largest in history. The exchange says about half the assets have been frozen, while hackers still hold much of the stolen funds; Binance has pledged to cover all losses and disabled withdrawals. TRM Labs and Chainalysis say the North Korean hacking group TraderTraitor may be linked to the attack, which early checks suggest could have involved a compromised engineer’s laptop. Tether and Circle have frozen about $2.4bn in assets, and Binance says it is working with law enforcement.
