The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) announced a major disruption in water supply on May 1, 2026, due to a pipeline burst along the NCT-Kigoro-Gigiri-Kabete transmission line near Gigiri. Affected areas include Westlands, Lavington, Kilimani, Kileleshwa, Upperhill, Ngong Road, Madaraka, Nairobi West, Uthiru, Karen, Kibera, and Lang’ata. NCWSC and Athi Water Works Development Agency teams are on-site for repairs, with normal supply expected to resume by May 2 at 6 AM. Residents are urged to use water sparingly in the meantime.
