During a meeting in Abidjan, Environment Minister Abou Bamba announced the full enforcement of decree n°2013-327 banning single-use plastics. This decision aims to combat plastic pollution, which poses a threat to health and the environment, and comes despite the socio-economic stakes related to the plastic industry in Ivory Coast. The minister emphasized that poor management of plastic waste contributes to flooding and damage to public infrastructure.
