Morocco – Israel: Diplomatic Status Quo Ends After Six Years with New York Summit

During a trilateral summit in New York, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita agreed to appoint ambassadors between Israel and Morocco, ending six years of diplomatic relations without embassies. The two countries also plan to finalize bilateral agreements on investment protection and double taxation prevention by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Morocco has strengthened its military cooperation with Israel, acquiring several defense systems since 2021.
