Agric sector records 3.15% growth in GDP to 11.87trn

Nigeria's agricultural sector, comprising crop production, livestock, forestry, and fishing, grew 3.15% year-on-year in real GDP to N11.87 trillion in Q1 2026. Crop production dominated with N8.9 trillion, up 3.39% YoY. Livestock rose 2.20% to N1.57 trillion, forestry increased 4.14% to N589.88 billion, and fishing grew 1.72% to N792.92 billion. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that the sector contributed 23.16% to aggregate real GDP in Q1 2026.
