CAN urges Taraba farmers, herders to embrace peace ahead of farming season

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on farmers and herders in Taraba State to prioritize peace as the 2026 rainy season begins. CAN Coordinator Pastor Zephaniah John emphasized the importance of coexistence for the survival of agrarian communities and condemned violence. The association also praised the establishment of the Taraba State Bureau for Peace and Conflict Management and urged a dialogue between farmers and herders to establish clearer rules of engagement.
