Life after amputation: Gaza women find recovery through football

In Deir el-Balah, central Gaza, young women who lost limbs in Israeli strikes play football with prosthetic limbs. The Palestine Association Women's Amputee Football Team helps them recover physically and mentally. WHO estimates over 5,000 people in Gaza have undergone amputations since the war began on October 7, 2023. Farah Abu Qinas, 23, lost a leg in a June 2024 air strike.
