Christian leaders in Niger State estimate the Christian population at 3.42 million, representing 45.7% of the projected population, but cite insecurity and displacement as factors altering community distribution. Deacon Marcus Salka explained that this figure is an estimate based on demographic projections and research, as the last official census did not record religious affiliation. He linked ongoing insecurity in areas like Shiroro, Munya, Paikoro, Rafi, Wushishi, and Magama to deaths and displacement, with some Christians being forced to relocate or killed, allegedly as part of an attempt to reduce the Christian population in these communities.
