Crewe religious group targeted by police in modern slavery inquiry

Cheshire Police arrested several individuals as part of an investigation into serious allegations, including modern slavery, involving a religious group called the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light in Crewe. Over 500 officers were involved in raids at three addresses following reports of serious sexual offences and forced marriages that allegedly took place in 2023. The investigation focuses on one woman who was a member of the group at the time of the incidents.
