Constitution: Michel Bongongo opposes change but opens the door to a revision

Professor Michel Bongongo expressed his opposition to any changes to the Congolese Constitution while being open to a revision of certain provisions. He criticized the treatment of social justice in the constitutional text, deeming it insufficient. However, he clearly stated that articles 218, 219, and 220 must remain intangible, considered the foundation of the Republic. Bongongo also rejected interpretations that would allow these articles to be modified through a referendum.
