Egypt entering Yemen war would make situation ‘more difficult’ – Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that intervention in the Yemen war by Egypt or any other country would make a resolution more difficult. He said Egypt had enough experience to avoid becoming entangled in the conflict and had stated that it would not enter Yemen or fight against it. The war between the Iran-backed Houthis and the Saudi-led coalition reignited in July, and Houthi attacks have targeted Saudi sites including Aramco and Riyadh’s international airport, where 13 people were killed on October 10. Egypt’s parliament postponed until next week a debate on President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s request to authorise military support for Saudi Arabia if requested.
