Benin: The Democrats will hold their national council on October 9 at the party headquarters in Cotonou

The national council of the Democrats party will take place on October 9, 2026, in Cotonou, ahead of the ordinary congress on October 10 and 11 in Porto-Novo. This meeting, chaired by Nourénou Atchadé, aims to validate the internal regulations of the congress and address organizational issues. The national coordination also reviewed requests for reintegration from former members and proposals to revise the party's fundamental texts to adapt its internal functioning to recent political developments.
