Philip Davis and Progressive Liberal Party win general election in Bahamas

Philip Davis will remain Prime Minister of the Bahamas after the Progressive Liberal Party won the early elections. This victory marks the first time since 1997 that a political party has won two consecutive general elections. Early tallies show the Progressive Liberal Party is set to win more than 30 of the 41 seats in the Bahamian Parliament. Opposition leader Michael Pintard conceded defeat while retaining his seat in Marco City.
