Middle East War: Putin Revives Russian Option for Storing Iranian Uranium

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia is ready to transport and store enriched uranium from Iran on its territory as part of a potential resolution to the Middle East conflict. This proposal, already rejected by the U.S. administration, was presented to Donald Trump in March 2026. Iran currently holds 441 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%, with its location uncertain following U.S.-Israeli strikes. Tehran has suggested diluting the uranium on its territory, an option not accepted by Washington.
