Airlink touches down in Zanzibar, launching new trips between the isles and Johannesburg

Airlink, Southern Africa's premier airline, inaugurated a new year-round, twice-weekly return service between Johannesburg and Zanzibar on June 3, 2026. A third weekly flight will be added from December 15, 2026 to January 13, 2027 for the peak summer holiday season. A new non-stop service between Cape Town and Zanzibar will launch on October 3, 2026. Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht highlighted Zanzibar's flourishing economy, including spice trade, manufacturing, fishing, marine tourism, and offshore oil and gas exploration, as a magnet for investment and trade.
