Governor Lawal's giant strides unprecedented — BON

On April 19, 2026, the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) awarded Governor Dauda Lawal the Infrastructure Governor of the Year honour for his urban renewal project in Zamfara State. The selection committee, chaired by former NBC Director-General Dr Danladi Bako, cited the transformation of Gusau into a modern state capital, the historic construction of an international airport, and the building and renovation of over 800 schools and several general hospitals.
