United States - Christa Pike back in prison after failed execution

Christa Pike, 50 years old, was released from the hospital on Saturday and returned to the Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center for women, where she has been incarcerated for 30 years. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a failed execution attempt on September 30, during which she received two injections of pentobarbital. She was placed on a respirator but eventually regained consciousness, spoke, and walked with assistance. Her lawyers stated she is still receiving medical care in prison and has a long recovery ahead.
