President Félix Tshisekedi decorated Fally Ipupa with the National Order of the Leopard (Knight) and the Gold Medal of Merit for Arts, Sciences and Letters on June 6, 2026 in Kinshasa. The honor follows the artist's two historic concerts at the Stade de France on May 2 and 3, 2026, which attracted over 110,000 spectators. Fally Ipupa is the first Francophone African artist residing on the continent to perform solo at that venue, marking his 20-year career. The head of state praised his journey, discipline, and ability to promote the Congolese soul.
