The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has opened an investigation after a door separated from a Triton-operated Challenger 604, registration T7-SEI. The aircraft departed Abuja for Lagos and declared a mayday three nautical miles into the flight, at 3,500 feet. It returned to Abuja and landed safely on Runway 22 at 16:34 UTC, carrying nine people: three crew members and six passengers. NSIB Director General Captain Alex Badeh Jr said the door had been recovered and secured at the Bureau’s wreckage hangar, with further updates to follow as the investigation progresses.
