Kenya’s growth slows to 4.6pc as agriculture drags

The Kenyan economy expanded at a slower rate of 4.6 percent in 2025, down from 4.7 percent the previous year, due to weaker agricultural and manufacturing output. The agriculture sector, the largest segment of the economy, grew by 2.8 percent, down from 4.3 percent, as wheat and green leaf tea production fell. However, the construction sector marked a significant recovery, expanding by 6.8 percent.
