Kenya: Residents Contaminated with Lead Due to Battery Recycling Plant

Residents of the village of Owino Ohuru continue to suffer from the effects of lead poisoning years after the closure of a toxic battery recycling plant. According to resident Benjamin Simblla, the elderly and children are ill, and cases of miscarriages have been reported. The contamination dates back to 2007, and residents lack financial resources for medical care.
