Mistura Adebayo in Our Custody, Medical Tests Ongoing, Ogun Government Says

The Ogun State Government says Mistura Adebayo, a young girl reported wandering on two occasions, is now in its custody. The Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has begun medical tests to assess her health and determine what care she needs. After Adetoun Adejobi alerted former commissioner Adijat Adeleye, social workers went to the police station but learned Mistura had already been released to her grandmother. A report the following day led to a new intervention and her transfer into government care; the ministry also urged residents to report violence, abuse, neglect and other threats to women and children.
