Côte d'Ivoire: Businesses urged to strengthen climate commitment to access green financing

On June 4, 2026, the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d'Ivoire (Cgeci) and the German International Cooperation Agency (Giz) held a workshop on the Nationally Determined Contribution (CDN 3.0) and the national climate transparency system. Ismaël Fanny, director of Commissions and Advocacy at Cgeci, urged companies to measure their carbon footprint, integrate ESG criteria, and promote the circular economy. The CDN 3.0 aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 33.07% by 2035, with potential up to 74.29%. The workshop aimed to sensitize the private sector to enhance competitiveness and access green financing.
