Cybercrime losses reached $20.8 billion in 2025, with 1,008,597 complaints recorded by the FBI. Investment frauds are the main source of losses, totaling over $8.6 billion. Nigeria and South Africa are among the top twenty countries for complaints, with 1,219 and 1,532 reports respectively. Approximately 85% of the losses come from frauds using the Internet or digital tools.
