The Ethiopian Orthodox Church says at least 60 people were killed in two attacks in the Oromia region. Fourteen worshippers were killed in Merti district on October 20, followed by 46 in Sherka district on October 24, according to a Holy Synod statement issued Monday and reported by Reuters. The Church also says more than 20 homes were burned and more than 20 people were hospitalized with serious injuries. ACLED said the October 24 attack may have been religiously motivated and cited the looting of an Orthodox church.
