Binance restarts withdrawals after $6.3bn heist

Binance began gradually restoring withdrawals on Sunday after suspending them following Thursday’s cyberattack, in which about $6.3bn in cryptocurrency was stolen. The FBI blamed North Korea for the theft, identifying the operation as TraderTraitor; investigators said the stolen assets were being converted mainly into ether. Binance said security checks are ongoing and that it is working with law enforcement and industry partners to trace and recover the funds.
