Cape Town leaders launch Community Guardianship Desk to tackle crime

Community, religious, and law enforcement leaders in Cape Town are collaborating to combat crime, with the Cape Town Ulama Board (CTUB) announcing a new initiative. The Community Guardianship Desk, led by veteran anti-gang officer Dawood Laing, aims to strengthen grassroots safety efforts in response to escalating violence on the Cape Flats. Laing criticized the government's spending on deploying the South African National Defence Force, calling it a waste of resources.
