Africa wants to accelerate its energy transition without impacting food security

The third conference of the International Network for Energy Transition in Africa (INAET) is being held in Abidjan since June 11, 2026. Ivorian minister Bernard Kini Comoé advocated for an integrated approach linking energy and agriculture. Essé Kouamé Bienvenu insisted on a transition adapted to African realities, combining gas, renewables and industrialization. Organized by ENI, Luiss University, the World Bank and IFC, the conference launched the Network on Bioenergies in Africa, an initiative by Eni and IRENA.
