One dead, five injured in clash at Asaba political rally

One person was killed and five others injured around 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, 7 November 2026, during an Asaba rally organised by the Obedient/OK Movement in support of the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate. Delta State police said they had warned organisers about the risk of violence and advised them against holding a road procession, but the organisers went ahead. Officers took the injured to hospital and reinforced security in the area as investigations continued to determine what happened and identify those responsible. Commissioner Samuel E. Erale condemned the violence and urged political parties to coordinate gatherings with the police.
