Coffee-Cocoa Sector: Producer Card Becomes Mandatory from September 1, 2026

The Director General of the Coffee-Cocoa Council, Koné Brahima Yves, announced at a press conference on June 12, 2026, at the Pullman Hotel in Abidjan that the producer card will become mandatory as of September 1, 2026, the start of the main 2026-2027 marketing campaign. This measure aims to anticipate the European Union's deforestation regulation, effective January 1, 2027, which requires full traceability of agricultural products. Côte d'Ivoire has been running a compliance program since 2019 to maintain access to international markets.
